Every day, you have to killfile several "news" related threads.   Put them in killfiles that only last 15 to 30 days, or expire after something like 15 days of inactivity.  That’s the only way to do it if you can’t stand that kind of thread. It’s not possible to get people not to participate in those threads, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of guitar and amp related threads. Still the best guitar amp newsgroup I’ve seen. I just added a rule to my reader that deletes anything with "OT:" or "OT -" in the subject. It took out a massive chunk of crap messages from the list. I don’t quite want to add "ot" without the colon or hyphen, as it may delete legit stuff. grol

That’s why I came up with something that would allow the Lefties all of their OT Threads, but limit it to one OT thread per subject. The worst offenders, of course, refused. See ya, John

Because there aren’t enough idiots in the other newsgroups. (Duh.)   –E

Can you add a rule to delete SPACE"OT"SPACE?  That is, "OT" but it must have a leading and training space in the string.

Make that " OT "

And this thread has 10 posts complaining about OT posts… lazybones

That’s how it needs to be done with Agent, at least with this old version that I prefer.  Because the colon won’t work. But I don’t killfile OT threads in case one might interest me.  OT threads that *aren’t* politics or news (which is going to be about politics, not news) can be interesting.  So I never killfile OT myself. I do tend to filter FS and FA threads so that they’re marked "read" when they arrive.  That way I receive the header, and if it’s something that I might want to buy (highly unlikely) I can retrieve the post. Posts with-in a single OT Thread isn’t a problem. If that thread doesn’t interest you, it’s easy to skip. The problem is hundreds of different OT threads on Katrina for instance. See ya, John

So get yourself a secretary.  Or try thinking each post out individually instead of cutting and pasting a single response to all the posts. If you aren’t part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Please post more amp content and less whining. Me?  I may have finally figured out how to get the Del Rio to sound great at both ends of the clean/dirty spectrum.  I just gotta get that dumb 3PDT switch.

Yeah Miles, stop whining! >Me?  I may have finally figured out how to get >the Del Rio to sound great at both ends of the >clean/dirty spectrum.  I just gotta get that >dumb 3PDT switch.

3PDT stompbox switches seem to be relatively easy. Aron of Aron’s Stompbox Forum was selling one as I recall, but his forum vanished for some odd reason a couple days ago.  But he has to have gotten it from a regular parts supplier.  A 3PDT toggle switch should be easy.  A really sturdy one might be a little bit harder. Call LV. As long as you need a switch, can you make it work using two switches? Pete — Oh look, the exploding circus is coming to town. One night only. –Brak’s Dad
