JBLs for a Prinston
Question:
What would be the JBL replacement for a 10" speaker in a ’79 Prinston Reverb? I mean, what is the series number or whatever? I am talking about current production speakers. Thanks. Mark
Response:
Since no one is replying I must assume that a JBL is a JBL and I would just put a 10" one in it. Thanks guys. Thanks for the reply. I went to the web-site and found an e-mail address and asked them about a 10" speaker for a small Fender guitar amplifier and got the reply that they (JBL) didn’t currently manufacture 10" musical instrument speakers. So I guess I will probably look at Weber speakers. Thanks again. The CA is not a JBL, but leans that way. Chris – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Thanks for the reply. Another good choice is the Electro-Voice EVM-10. It is a premium speaker; handles 200 watts,is ultra clean, still available, factory has a service dept. I’m surprised the JBL E-110 is no longer available. It was a very popular speaker. Look for a used E-110 or D-110 in the classifieds, they appear occasionally.

PS, Eminence now makes a cast frame 10" speaker that is similar to an EV. 150 watts (same as the JBL),no mid range boost (like EV’s),affordable. I’ve never heard one but "critics" like ‘em. The 12" models are used in some pricey boutique amps.
